Happy in My Own Shoes was an important book for me to write. It is a story about a smart, sweet and creative girl who had a rough week in school. It explores her journey from self-doubt and worry to empowerment through self-acceptance.

I wrote Spaghetti Hair because I wanted kids to have fun in an imaginary world with unconventional stories that ignite joy and excitement. I wanted them to share that experience with their parents to help foster a closer bond between parent and child.
Some of the stories end with an open-ended question, asking the child what he or she would do if they were in a similar situation. I ended with a question purposefully to allow the parent to engage with their child.
Additionally, I included three love poems as a free bonus on this website. These poems are written from the perspective of a parent to their child.
Some parents may have difficulty finding words to verbalize their love for their children, and I was hoping these love poems would be helpful to these parents.
It is my greatest hope that you and your child will enjoy the book in the fun, loving way it was intended.
